Chain Lengths

When selecting a necklace or pendant, consider that the length will determine where it will lie when it's being worn. The length of chain will emphasise different parts of the wearer's chest. For example a 16 inch chain will be closer to the neck line and will lie above the collarbone.  The more common length, the 18 inch chain, will lie over the collar bones, and longer lengths will lie on the skin but also on clothing, and with the right choice of clothing it can have a dramatic effect. 

Women's Chains 16in (Choker): Just above collarbones. Emphasizes the neckline. 18in (Princess): Hangs over collarbones. The most common length. 24in (Opera): Over blouse or dress. A dramatic length.

Men's Chains 18in: Quite form-fitting, visible above your shirt. 20in-22in: Falls at the collarbone. The most common size for men. 22in-24in: Falls in the middle of the chest, good for a medal, pendant or dog tags.  24in-30in: To be worn on the outside of shirt. Best for larger pendant or thicker chain.

Bracelet Sizes

The industry standard bracelet size for women is generally between 7 inches and 7.5 inches, with 7 inches being the most common in women’s jewelry. This bracelet size will sit nicely between the wrist bone and the base of the hand.

The standard size for men is usually between 7.5 inches and 9 inches, 8 inches being the most common length.

Babies and toddlers tend to wear bracelets between 4 to 5 inches in length, and older kids have a general bracelet length of 5.5 to 6 inches.
